This will be a hot and spicy August: there is fire everywhere in this month's configurations.
With the previous Jupiter cazimi, a gate for opportunities opened. Not that it was the luckiest day of the year (as some say). But it definitely opened up a gate for something special and unique to happen, either externally or within. Don't expect that to be an immediate thing. Leo is a fixed sign and it reflects slow but powerful processes.
On August 7, the Sun will trine Saturn in Aries. This is a reminder that sometimes (creative) power is gained through consistent discipline and that small or slow changes also matter.
The highlight of this month is the powerful total solar eclipse in Leo on August 12. It speaks of potential, creative potential --- waiting to turn into action. The days before and after this eclipse, life might present us with situations that can "facilitate" change [whether we like them or not]. But waiting for life to bring something can be a waste of time. What we want depends on us too, and sometimes we just have to get out and go for it. Again, little changes also matter. Bringing color and warmth in our lives. Not just to see the sunny side, but to get hold of it. Self-confidence in the heart is the key.
Now, the eclipse day itself (August 12) is, after all, an eclipsED day, and we better spend it calmly and not doing too much. I never recommend doing or starting very important things on eclipse days, especially on a strong one like this Leo eclipse. Take it easy, put some summer colorful flowers, drink chamomile tea, dress to impress, or do some creative work. But the days following are charged with fire, and Mercury takes the lead (communication! [creative] ideas!).
Additionally, fixed sign eclipses can reflect a lasting process in our lives, even for months (next year we have again eclipses in the Leo/Aquarius axis, and today’s themes might come back).
On August 20 Mercury will touch the eclipse point, which is another day to be mindful of when it comes to communication and information. Then Mercury will enter the heart of the Sun (cazimi) on August 27: communication meets with bold self expression. What must be said, must be said [strategically, of course!]. The mind can also open the doors to creativity (and power) this day.
And on August 28 we slow down the month with a final partial lunar eclipse in Pisces. After a heated month, we close our doors with a time of introspection, reflection, and possibly breakthroughs. It is a time to also be mindful and conscientious of those around us. Reflect on the month, reflect on the events, the things people told you or showed you, and trust your intuition. This is not a day to be open and receptive to everyone, it is a day to recharge.
The month closes with a final fire push with Jupiter trine Saturn Rx: growth comes through discipline, deliberate patience, and self-confidence.
And the final struggle of the "fallen malefics": Mars in Cancer square Saturn in Aries (August 31-September 1). This configuration involves emotion, anger, and frustration. After a busy month, there might come a situation that feels frustrating or limitating, and actively ignites feelings of anger or defensiveness. The month can close with an afflicted energy drive and shaken emotions. There was momentum, we felt it, and suddenly something blocks it.
While August does present us with growing opportunities, these need to be tackled slowly, with care and discipline. This is not a month end up burnt out. Take care of how you approach things throughout the month, and let the final "fallen malefics struggle" be just a noisy fly in the room.
